Robert (Shakey) Frankie Gomer Menard
February 2 1956 – April 26 2022
It is with broken hearts that we the family of Robert announce his passing on the morning of April 26, 2022, at the Carleton Place Hospital with his loving wife Deborah Taylor-Menard by his side. Robert leaves behind his wife and 3 stepchildren Tara Taylor (Jason Wannamaker) Kelly Taylor (Matthew Schaven ) and William (Billy) Taylor as well as his only grandson Lincoln Schaven whom was the love of his Papas life and a precious granddaughter coming in June 2022. Robert was the son of the late Clifford & Olive Menard of Eganville, Ontario . Loving brother of the late Annett Weddeler (late Elson), late David Menard (Marion surviving). Survived by brothers Raymond, Joseph, Dennis, Darrel Heideman (Penny) and sister Brenda Brown (late Donald). Brother-in-law of Cheryl St. Pierre (Kjeld Jorgensen) and Marty Desarmia. Predeceased by Mother-in-law Marjorie Desarmia and brothers-in-law Thomas Desarmia and Robert St. Pierre. Very loving Uncle, Great-Uncle and Great-Great-Uncle. Robert will be missed by many great friends and extended family, especially his Tuesday night and Thursday afternoon card buddies.
Shake you will be remembered and loved today, tomorrow and always.
Special thank you to Dr. Aun Yeong Chong and his receptionist Toni for all their compassion and care, as well as Dr. Ivanovich for many years of caring for Robert.
Family and friends may visit at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 11 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at United Cemeteries, Carleton Place. In memoriam, donations can be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
