ROLPH, Robert “Bob”
January 27, 1941-November 17, 2022
On November 17, 2022 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, it is with much sadness that we say farewell to an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bob Rolph of Stony Plain, passed away comfortably at the age of 81.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Darlene, his 3 boys Dale, Wade (Jacinda) and Brent (Laura). Bob was also blessed with 4 amazing grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and 4 brothers and sisters.
Bob was known as the “glue” of the family. He accepted all into his family, everyone was always welcome.
Bob spent most of his working life on the road working tirelessly to support his family as they grew up mainly in the Spruce Grove area. Later is his working life he returned to Slave Lake to work in the forestry and oil and gas industry to complete his working career. During early retirement he was happy working with his horses, tending to his acreage and spending time with his wife, friends and family. As his health became more of a challenge Bob and his wife relocated to Stony Plain where he spent the remaining years reconnecting with old friends and family members.
A celebration of life will be held at the United Church in Stony Plain (5012 – 51 Ave) on Thursday, December 1st at 11:00 am. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Robert’s name to the Pilgrims Hospice Society (pilgrimshospice.com) 9808-148 st, Edmonton, AB T5N 3E8.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff and volunteers at the Roozen Family Hospice Centre (Pilgrims) for the care and compassion demonstrated in Bob’s final days. Your care and support will never be forgotten.
