Robert Richard Bob Bourguignon 07 Aug 2022

Robert Richard (Bob) Bourguignon
Robert Bourguignon (Bob Bee to his friends) passed away August 7, 2022, at Miramichi Regional Hospital, after a brief illness. He was 81.
The son of Leo Bourguignon and Dorothy Thornton of Ottawa ON, he is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Rose; his sons: Rob, Tom and Michael; his grandchildren: Dominic, Gabrielle and Maya; and his siblings: Gerry and Diane. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald.
A man of few words, Bob expressed himself through a wry sense of humour and a passion for music. He performed frequently at weekly jam sessions in and around Miramichi, a community he and Rose embraced after his retirement from a 37-year career with the federal government.
Over the years, he became known for the elaborate and ever-expanding miniature Christmas village that drew friends and neighbours to his home every holiday season. And to his grandchildren, he will always be the real Santa Claus.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Miramichi Regional Hospital and the New Brunswick Extra-Mural Program for their help and support during Bob’s final days.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, August 12 2022, at 1:00pm from Saint Michael’s Basilica, Miramichi.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family would appreciate donations to the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
