Robert McKenzie Saturday January 22nd 2022

Suddenly, on January 22, 2022, Rob lost his courageous battle with cancer. The love of his life, Danielle, was by his side.
Born and raised in Fort Garry, Rob never moved far, living just down Pembina Highway from the home he grew up in on Hudson Street.
Rob had a career of driving, which included time as a bus operator for Greyhound Canada, a cement mixer operator for LaFarge Canada and seasonal work with Bayview Construction Ltd.
Riding his motorcycle was a passion for Rob, and he took pleasure riding whenever possible. He had an affinity for motocross and dirt track racing. He was a big fan of the World of Outlaws and his favourite weekend was the Seitz Memorial in Grand Forks with all his racing family.
Another passion was a place at Spruce Sands RV Resort, where he enjoyed summers with his second family. Time at the beach was always fun, as were the bonfires and countless meals with friends. He truly loved to be surrounded by people, and people loved to be around him. He held his many friends dear to heart and was always willing to lend a hand.
He enjoyed traveling and in particular, to the Friendly Vallarta (Fun) in Puerto Vallarta where he vacationed with family and close friends several years in a row. The staff at the Friendly became family. One of his favourite memories was being invited to a private residence of one of the staff members.
Rob loved to fish, both at the floodway and at Spruce Sands with close friends.
He will be forever loved and remembered by his fiancee Danielle, brother Larry (Shirley), sister Debbie (Ron), brother Ken (Gil), Mother-in-law Joan, brother-in-law David, brother-in-law Rick, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. Rob was predeceased by his parents Ron and Joan McKenzie. A special thank you to all his great friends and family for their help, love and support.
As per Rob’s wishes, there will be no service planned, however a Celebration of Life will take place at a later time.
Rest easy Rob, hope you continue to enjoy your passions, you are in our hearts forever and will be deeply missed!
Special thanks to Glenn Crawshaw, Mosaic Funeral Home for treating us with respect and dignity during this difficult time.

  1. I have known Robbie McKenzie since we were five years old and we have been through many ups and downs together. I have to admit my heart is broken as I loved him like a little(BIG) brother for most of my life. We were always there for each other, I just wish I could have been there for him at the end. Ride easy brother, see you on the other side.
