Robert Frederick Lucas
Nov. 12, 1946 – Jan. 1, 2022
Passed peacefully away on January 1, 2022 surrounded by his loving family, age 75 years.
Predeceased by his parents Chesley and Margaret, siblings Martha (Pat), Teddy, Junette (Pat), Irene (Bob). Mother in-law Rebecca Webber, Brother in-law William Hodder.
Robert leaves behind a lifetime of precious and loving memories with his wife Ingrid, sons Robert (Sheryl), Jonathan (Samantha), daughter Kelly (Micheal). His pride and joy Grand-Children and Great Grand-Children who always brought a smile to his face, Alexandra (Josh), Stephen, Marcus, Alyssa, Madison, Cynthia, Amy (Shane), Nicole and Jesse, Nathan, Aiden, Talyn, Michael and Makenzie who spent a lot of special time with their poppy. Robert will also be sadly missed by CarolAnn, Fran, Glenn and Kelli, and lifelong friend Michael Stevenson, cabin crowd friends and Tors Cove friends. Also morning his brothers Ches (Rose), Norman (Evelyn), his brother Johnny and Sandra with whom he had a very close relationship, David (Brenda), sister in-law Marie Lucas, brother in-laws Sam (Joan), Paul (Trudy), Aunt Kay Halliday. Robert had many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, too many to mention by name.
Roberts biggest accomplishment was his children and all the grandchildren that followed. Though he didn’t express his feelings often be assured he loved and respected each and every one and their individual choices. His priority was always working and providing for his family. His work ethic and loyalty was something to be admired by everyone, and family and friends alike knew Robert was the man to call when something needed to be fixed.
Robert also enjoyed a very social lifestyle. Whether vacationing, playing cards, dancing, hunting, watching hockey or sharing a conversation about current events his companionship was welcomed and appreciated by everyone.
Special thanks to Dr. Wade Mercer, Dr. B Thompkins, Dr. J. McCarthy and Dr. O. Holmes and the staff of the H Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre for their care and compassion over the past years. Many thanks also to the Mt. Pearl Sobeys Square Community Health Centre and Rev Bob Rowlands.
Cremation has already taken place; any further arrangements will be provided at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
If I should go tomorrow, it would never be good bye,
For I have left my heart with you so don’t you ever cry.
The love that’s deep within me shall reach you from above.
You will feel it from the heavens and will fill your heart with love.
Robert, my love, you will be sadly missed. Rest in peace.
