Robert left a wonderful legacy of 8 children, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
After a long and successful career with CN Railroad, Bob went on to enjoy 35 years of retirement. Bob was an avid lover of the outdoors and spent much time fishing, guiding, hunting, snow showing, skidooing, berry picking, four wheeling and just walking around admiring the scenic beauty of his beloved town of Howley and the surrounding area of Granny’s Nipple, Hind’s Brook, Kitty’s Brook, Gaff Topsails, Frenchman’s Cove and Calvin Brook.
Bob also enjoyed gardening, travelling, volunteering with the Anglican Church from the time he was a boy, playing cribbage, poker, euchre and 500’s and visiting his many relatives and friends across Canada.
Bob’s motto of “Where there is a will there is a way” is exemplified by the fact that he still remembered all his children despite living with Alzheimer’s for 17 years.
The family will be receiving family and friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Howley Anglican Church also where the funeral service will take place on Sunday, May 22nd, 2022 at 2 pm with Canon Rev. Jeffrey Petten officiating.
