Obituary of Robert “Bob” Paetz
It has pleased Almighty God to take out of this life the soul of Robert Frank Paetz, peacefully on Monday, June 6, 2022, at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener.
Bob was the beloved husband of Ruth Ann (Geelhaar) Paetz for 55 years. Father of David and his wife Marlene and grandfather of William.
Bob was the son of the late Edward Paetz and Laura nee Schmitt Paetz. Brother of Bernice Scherbarth and Kenneth Paetz both predeceased.
He was a faithful employee of Kitchener Printing for over 50 years. Bob played his French Horn with the K.W. Symphony, the Waterloo Concert Band and in the Church Band at Holy Cross Lutheran Church for many years.
Visitation for Bob will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with the funeral service to follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Paul Zabel of Holy Cross Lutheran Church officiating. Following the service, Bob will be laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo. A reception will follow the interment in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. The family requests that personal face coverings be worn for visitation and the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, the Alzheimer’s Society or St. Mary’s General Hospital and may be arranged through the funeral home, www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
