It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Robert (Bob) Sattler. Satsman. Bob was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan to Dorothy and Fred Sattler. He along with his brother, Harold grew up farming their land in Meota, Saskatchewan. Bob was always very proud of his family. They were very well known and respected for their strong community commitment. There was always plenty for everyone at the Sattler home. He graduated from North Battleford in 1974. He held the Saskatchewan high school pole vaulting record. Twelve feet, three inches in 1973. Bob found his way to Vernon in 1980 and began a career that would lead him to his favourite path as an event coordinator and planner. Many of these events provided Vernon with exceptional acts and are part of Vernon’s history. Such as, Suds n’ Cider, Pamper Your Palette, Vienna Boys Choir and Roger Hodgson just to name a few. In 2007, he bought Hi-Pro Sportswear and grew the business to be extremely successful until his retirement. He was devoted to his community and held active positions with the Greater Vernon Chamber, DVA and was a devoted Rotarian. His desire to travel began with being a travel chaperone with his daughter’s high school. He traveled to Asia many times with several groups of students. He was a gifted musician playing guitar, harmonica, and drums, he was always up for a campfire sing-along or jam with fellow musicians. Additionally, he could often be found at the Vernon arenas playing hockey, he loved the camaraderie of his teammates on & off the ice. Bob was a powerful people person & would always take the time to have a cheerful chat. His favorite people were children, they were drawn to him. He loved nothing more than doing his Donald Duck voices and magic tricks to see their faces light up. He is survived by his wife, Dar, daughter Nadine, son Rylie, stepchildren Shane and Carrie. Grandchildren Malik, Kahlil, Hakim, Jahiem, Liam, Ember, and great-granddaughter Athena. Brother Harold (Jan), their children Lisa (Doug) Logan, Skylin and Jace, Shawn (Tasha) Nathan, Elyse and Lydia. He had a very special bond with Terry (Lynn) and their families. Bob made everyone feel loved including his children’s friends and girlfriends, they were also family. Bob, you have impacted each of us with your powerful being. May you Rest in Peace, you will never be forgotten. There will be “A Gathering of Bob’s Family and Friends” on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at Paddlewheel Hall, Vernon, BC.
