Death notice for the town of: Memramcook, Province: Nouveau-Brunswick
To Bertha and family.
I was very saddened to learn the passing of Bob. To our family, he was not only a friend but a mentor as well.
Of course, we came to know Bob through the sport of softball and he not only coached Alecia in 2 Canada Games but he also followed our travel team for a great many years offering playing and coaching expertise.
His dedication to softball and his athletes is 2nd to none and could never be questioned. His will to drive the players to their best ability was proven through the countless number of hours on research and analysis.
Over the years, Bob became a very good friend of our family. I will always remember Bob with two of his quotes ….. “If you fail to prepare, prepare to fail” and “Practice makes permanent, not perfect”.
Please allow me to pass on our sincere condolences from the O’Brien family in honour of a truly great man.
