Obituary of Rita Whittal
WHITTAL, Rita (nee Trinca)
March 9, 1946 – August 22, 2022
We are heartbroken to announce Rita’s passing at 76 years of age. She was the beloved wife of Greg Whittal, the love of his life, with whom he shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Devoted and loving mother of Kirk and Megan. Best mother-in-law in the world to Stephen Nilsson and Anita. Proudest Nonni of Tess and Adele. Rita was a loving sister to Al and Cheryl Trinca and predeceased by siblings Tina Moran, Louis Trinca, John Trinca, and Sr. Angelina Trinca. Cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. Dear sister-in-law of Jeff and Debbie, Kevin, Brent and Carin, and Suzanne and Gerry, Doris, and Joanne. Rita will be missed by her many friends, neighbours and former colleagues. She worked for many years as a kind and compassionate nurse and was known for her sense of humour, her warm personality and her intense love for her family and friends. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren and possessed an unfailing love for her family. She will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. Thank you to the many care providers over the past few months and to the Hospice Care Team for comforting Rita in her final days. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will be at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd E, 519-253-7234, on Sunday, August 28 from 1 – 5 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, August 29, from 10 until the Celebration Life Service at 11:00 am.
