Rita Geraldine Baby White Tuesday July 12th 2022

In loving memory of Rita Geraldine Baby (née White), who passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 89 years. Daughter of the late Peter White and Marie-Rose (née Fortin), and stepdaughter of Gladys White (predeceased). Sister to Hector, Ronald, Gerry, and Neil. Beloved wife of John Baby Sr. (predeceased 2010). Loving and devoted mother of Darlene Baby, Sandra McNair (Byron), John Baby Jr., Cookie Bywater (Blaine), and Christine Hawkes (Don). Cherished Nanny to her grandchildren Cartier, Frankie, Tylor (Elyse), Joshua (Ali), Calder (Mat), Sawyer, Tara, and Kristin (Geoff), as well as Great-Nanny to Oliver and Ada. Rita was actively involved in the Sudbury hockey community when her children were young. With a giving heart, she was always quick to ensure other children could participate as well. She was an avid reader, from novels to newspapers, to gossip magazines, she loved it all. She was an excellent cook and hosted many a Christmas dinner over the years. She loved knitting and thoroughly enjoyed watching hockey and tennis. She will be remembered for her quick wit, big heart, and feisty nature. As per Rita’s wishes, there will be no service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date and Rita will be laid to rest with her husband Johnny. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Red Cross Ukrainian Humanitarian Crisis. For donations or messages of condolence, www.lougheedfuneralhomes.com
