Obituary of Rients Boorsma
The Lord called unto Himself Rients “Ron” Boorsma Monday, January 17, 2022 at St. Catharines General Hospital. Rients leaves behind his wife of 51 years Riemke “Rhea” Boorsma. He will be missed dearly by his children Ronald Boorsma (Yeimi), Doreen Crawford (Scott), and Katharine Parsons (Chris). He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Celina (Jonas), Calvin, Ben, Nathan and Noah. (Siblings) Diane (Sybrand)†, Grace (Albert) , John (Clara), Ted (Brenda) , Edward (Wilma), Dave† (Anne), Gerrit† (Margaret†). He will be missed by his four-legged friend Stanley. Due to current Covid restrictions, visitation is required to be by booked appointment. You may prebook a visitation time through the link below, or call the funeral home at 905-957-7031 to prebook a time. Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday, January 20 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral service at First Reformed Church of St. Catharines on Friday, January 21 at 11:00 a.m.. Internment at Union Cemetery in Smithville will precede the funeral service. Memorial donations to a food bank of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
