It is with saddened hearts we announce the sudden passing of Rick Wieringa on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at C.E.E. Hospital, Petrolia, at the age of 62. Beloved husband of Ann Wieringa of 35 years. Loving father of Tyler (Natalie) and Kalie. Dear brother of Sue (Pat) Upton and Rob (Sheryle) Wieringa, and brother-in-law of Mary (Ed Pimentel) Pavey, Sue Campbell (Brian Price), and John Pavey. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Jacob and Eleanor. Rick was a member of Local 95. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Rick enjoyed snowmobiling, hockey, and watching Nascar. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. The family wishes to thank the community and neighbours who helped as local EMS was on route. We also wish to thank the volunteer firefighters and OPP for their care and assistance. Cremation has taken place. An Open House to celebrate Rick’s life will be held at the Smith Family Centre (in front of Smith Funeral Home), 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to LHSC Foundation – Cardiac Program (cheques only at the funeral home please).
