Beloved son of the late Dorothy Migneault (née Rayner) and Richard Migneault (Judy Marcotte Golka). Dear nephew and God Child of Jacqueline Martin (Daniel Courville) and remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and acquaintances.
Although he was afflicted by a severe form of muscular dystrophy, Richie accomplished many things in his life and no challenge was too great. After graduating with a degree in Commerce from Cambrian College, He worked in different fields. With his love of music, Richie along with childhood friends created the rock group “Diamond Fortress” and entertained many of the good people of Northern Ontario.
Before becoming a strong advocate and spokesperson for people with disabilities. Richie co-founded the Sudbury Muscular Dystrophy Chapter. Much of his time was devoted to successfully organizing fundraisers with the help and support of wonderful, dedicated volunteers and local business owners. He planned and organized many events such as Summerfest, Ryan’s Run with Harley’s Owner’s Group, many golf tournaments, dances, bingos and other events to provide funds for families and individuals coping with their disabilities. His courage, strength of character and charm touched and inspired everyone.
He loved spending time with his family and friends, loved concerts of all genres. (Especially KISS) and enjoyed several trips throughout America.
Richie and his family have always been grateful for the support and care of his wonderful selfless personal caregivers. Over the years, many deep friendships developed.
After first meeting Richie, you had a friend. He was an inspiring soul who filled everyone with awe. He will be missed and fondly remembered.
The family would like to thank the paramedics, nurses, doctors, and staff at HSN for the wonderful care they provided.
