Richard J. Jenkins age 81 of Elmira Heights, NY passed away on Tuesday September 6, 2022. He was born March 10, 1941 in Montour Falls, NY the son of the late Benjamin and Myrtle L. Cronkright Jenkins. Richard was a retired driver and maintenance worker at Seneca Beverage. He was also a long-time member and driver for The Elmira Heights Fire Department and a driver for Schuyler Ambulance. In addition to his parents, Dick was pre-deceased by his wife Diane Yenger Jenkins in 2013 and by his brother Mark. He loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. Richard is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Benjamin R. & April Alexander Benjamin of Beaver Dams, NY and their children Lynne and Joshua Jenkins ; son: Bob Emery of Elmira, NY ; daughter: Celine Thomas of Millport , NY and her children Stephanie , Stacy, and Ashley ; daughter: Karen Yenger Smith of Atlanta, GA ; five great grandchildren , several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Richard’s Life on Saturday September 24, 2022 at 10 AM at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY.
