Richard Vernon
Roode – 60, East
Mountain, passed away at his one true place that he loved, his camp,
on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late
Donald Murray and Elizabeth Rose “Betty” (Stewart)
Roode.
Richard is survived by his children, Joshua Roode (Nicole
Decoste), Jennifer Roode (Joey MacDonald); beautiful grandchildren,
Rylan, Easton, Nora, Jimmy; true love and best friend, Brenda (Nelson)
Roode; brothers, Leo (Wendy), Peter (Kelly); sisters, Carol (Fred),
Maxine (Kenny), Jackie, Linda; many nieces and nephews who he loved
dearly. Richard had many friends who are like family. Along with his
parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Brenda, Debbie; brothers,
Raymond, Joe.
He started his career at Blenkhorns and mechanic work at a
very young age. He might not have been able to read and write very
well, but he sure knew how to fix anything that came his way, with
determination! Richard loved the woods, hunting, being in nature,
making friends with the animals and spending time with his
grandchildren, whether it was just giving them a hug, teaching them
how to shoot a gun, fish, fix a tire, or even feeding the squirrels.
He adored spending time with his children, friends and
family.
We are going to miss your crazy stories, your rooster call
and your hand shakes, but most of all, your big heart and hugs. You
had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody. We will miss
you, Daddy! We would like to extend many thanks to Duane
Stone.
There will be a celebration of his life at a later
date.
