I was deeply saddened when you called to inform me of Richard’s passing. I so enjoyed these past years interacting with Richard. He was bigger than life, with such a positive outlook as he faced his most recent health challenges. His sense of humour and no nonsense way of communicating warmed my heart. I will miss our coffee times in the driveway .

Please know that he will be missed and our deepest sympathies are extended to you and Roy. May your fond memories of Richard bring you comfort as you navigate through this time of grief.

  2. I was saddened to hear about Richard’s passing. I went to public and high school with Richard. We also went to Ipperwash Army Cadet Camp together in 1969. We were there when the astronauts first landed on the moon. I was well aware of Richard’s deep passion for hunting and dogs. My mother lived in Picton before she went into the John M Parrott Centre in Napanee and she used to run into Richard from time to time. He always took the time to stop and talk and to inquire about us. He was a nice guy and I will keep Richard’s family in my thoughts and prayers.
