Obituary
Ranney, Richard– Richard passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday March 12, 2022 at the age of 85. A heart felt thanks to Dr. Wendy Graham whose compassion and support made this possible throughout Richard’s journey.
He was predeceased by his wife Fay (nee Stabler). Loving father of Glenda Scanlan (Denis), Garth (Caron) and Gavin (Carole) Ranney. He was a special grandpa to Matthew (Lauren) Scanlan and Allyson (Brad) Maker, Erin (Josh) Dimmel, Kristin Ranney and great grandchildren Theodore and Maxwell Scanlan, Olivia Dimmel and Logan Maker. Predeceased by his parents Valida and Malcolm Ranney. Survived by his brother Arthur Ranney, niece Kathy Mendez and nephew John Ranney.
Richard worked at Bell Canada for 40 years before he retired. He loved to fish and hunt and spent many hours painting and wood carving.
As per his wishes, there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held to honour him at a later date.
Donations to the North Bay Regional Health Center Foundation in memory of Richard will be gratefully acknowledged by his family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES.
