At peace on Friday, July 1, 2022. On September 11, 1941, When Dick was born; the world became a better place. Dick was 80 and lived in the Sarnia area all his life. His working career began in 1958 with Imperial Oil, sailing the Great Lakes and the Canadian East Coast on the tanker SS Imperial Simcoe and lastly retired in 1993 from Vulcan Packaging (National Steel Drum) in Petrolia after 28 years of service. Survived by his loving and dear wife Charlene Brooks of Sarnia 57 years and siblings Doug Brook, Diane Pilon and Darlene Balint. Predeceased by mother Lillian Brooks (1964) and two brothers and one sister. Many will never have had the opportunity to have known a more giving and caring individual than Dick. In all endeavors, others came first whether they be loved ones or an unknown. He would be there with a helping hand. Dick will be remembered for his love of the open road, the great outdoors and his quick wit humour which he would often use to lift the spirits of others. Now we will rejoice the life we shared with Dick and cherish the memories. At the request of Dick there will be no service. Cremation has taken place.
