Richard Dick Franklin Munn 2022

It is with profound sadness that the family of Richard (Dick) Munn announces his passing on October 10, 2022, at the age of 80. He was the loving husband, for 59 years, of Diane Munn (née Kenny), and the fabulous and hilarious father of Craig (Pam), Kelly DiCienzo (Ralph), and Brett (deceased). He was also the loving Papa to Joey and Marco DiCienzo. He will be greatly missed by brother Jim (Marnie), Paul (deceased) (Sue), sister Sue (Bob), and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by brother-in-law Ron Kenny (Diana). Richard (Dick) was a member of the Ram-Rod Car Club in Old Stoney Creek. They were instrumental in having the Stoney Creek Arena built with permission from the Mayor and authorization by members of Council. Dick became a volunteer firefighter in 1969 and fell in love with the job. It became his lifelong career until he retired after 27 years. His famous line, when going off to work, was “I’m going off to save lives and property.” Following his retirement, he worked at WestJet which fulfilled his love of airplanes. Dick’s laughter and genuine love of people will be missed by all who knew him or came in contact with him. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Dick’s life will be held on Sunday October 23, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre, 100 King Street East, Dundas, ON (additional parking at the Air Force Club). In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton would be appreciated by the family. www.hamiltonhealth.ca/donate
