It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rev. Thomas Villeneuve on Friday, August 19th, 2022 at Cornwall Hospice at the age of 96 Years. Dear son of the late Ernest Villeneuve and the late Kathleen Villeneuve (nee Gagnon). Cherished brother of Claire Fielding (late Barry) of Barry, ON, Elaine Carroll (late Don) of Burlington, ON,Theresa MacDonald and Madeleine Cardinal (Bert) both of Cornwall, Kathleen Watzenboeck (Ralph) of Ottawa, ON and Adele Major (late Denis) of Hudson, QC. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by one brother; Ernest Jr. Villeneuve (late Elaine Adams), by his sister; Frances Marion (late Maurice). He has served the Diocese of Alexandria-Cornwall for 68 years and made many friends in the different parishes where he was appointed. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by the many parishioners he loved, served and helped. Resting at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, ON (613-938-3888) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 25th, 2022. Funeral on Friday, August 26th, 2022 for Mass of Christian Burial in St. Columban Church at 2 p.m. Followed by cremation. There will be a solemn translation of the body from the Funeral Home to St. Columban Church on Friday, August 26th, 2022 with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the Funeral. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to Cornwall Hospice or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
