Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Center on Friday, March 25, 2022 with his friend by his side. Predeceased by his parents James and Veronica (Fahey) Hogan, sister Dorothy Goff, brother-in-law Edward Goff, brother James Hogan, his niece Dianne Summers and nephew Bobby Goff. Leaving behind with many memories of a life well lived is his sister-in-law Susie Barbour as well as his nieces and nephews and their families: Brian Goff, Anne Andrews, Sheila Spruyt, Brenda Pittman, Paula English, Catherine Hogan Safer, Peter Hogan, Don Hogan, Doug Hogan, Jennifer Hogan, Chrys Hogan, Darryl Hogan, Phillip Hogan and Jaime Fudge. His wisdom, good humour and fellowship have been cherished. He will also be missed by a large number of cousins from the Hogan, Fahey and Divine families. Father Hogan was a priest for 72 years and mourning his loss is Archbishop Peter Hundt and brother priests, whom he respected beyond measure. A special thank you to Father Frank Slattery for all his support at O’Dwyer Apartments. Father Hogan was the first baby baptized at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital and the Congregation has been with him for his entire life. He greatly appreciated their dedication and he loved to celebrate the Mass with them for many years. He also held in high regard the Presentation Sisters and treasured the friendships he developed there over the years. In 1957, Father Hogan made a deep impression on a little girl from Belvedere Orphanage. Their connection spanned 65 years and Father Hogan deeply cherished that friendship with Marion Biasutti. A special thank you to Dr. Bob Woodland for always being there in every way. Also, to Steve Dray for his dedicated service and Sister Mary Theresa Doyle for her daily conversations. Visitation will be held at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Monday, March 28th from 10am-9pm and 10am until noon on Tuesday March 29th.
