Rev Floyd Campbell 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Floyd Rainsford Campbell announce he passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 89.
Born April the 8th, 1933, Floyd was the son of the late Charles Douglas and Violet Stella (Arbeau) Campbell.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie (Bamford) Campbell of Upper Blackville; daughter Mary Lynn Clarke (David) of Virginia; three sons Jonathan Paul Campbell (Nancy) of Nevada, David William Campbell (Adriana) of Cocagne, and James Douglas Campbell (Valarie) of Ottawa; one sister Janet Black (Larry) of Massachusetts; 12 grandchildren: Madison (William), Beatrice (Roman), Murielle, Abigail, Thomas, Maibrie, Wesley (Mariah), Alexander (Andrea), Mallori (Luke), Alice, Maxwell, and Colin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Carl, Leigh, Glen, and Orville; and sister Thelma Campbell.
Growing up on the Miramichi, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and had an appreciation of the outdoors. What defined him was his becoming a believer in Jesus at the age of 15. He attended Blackville High, United Baptist Bible Training School (now Crandall University), Gordon College and Divinity schools.
In 1960, he married Marjorie Bamford, was ordained and, with Marjorie, faithfully served the Lord as pastor in several Baptist churches around New Brunswick.
Gifted with leadership ability, he taught at UBBTS and served as chair of several bible camps and associations. He loved Jesus and the Bible and his main concern was for people to trust Jesus as their Saviour.
Both enjoying travel, Floyd and Marjorie visited 26 U.S. states, all 10 provinces across Canada, England and Scotland. Retiring to his homestead where he was born in Upper Blackville, he never wanted to leave. The only other place he wanted to live was heaven.
Inflicted with Parkinson’s disease for at least four years, God had mercy on him and took him to heaven.
The family would like to thank Dr. Cheryl Rushton for being such a wonderful family doctor for over 20 years, as well as the kind staff at Miramichi Hospital and our pastor Rev. Paul Inman.
The family will receive relatives and friends, in Upper Blackville at the New Zion Baptist Church, on Monday, September 26, 2022, from 12 to 2 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm, with Rev. Paul Inman officiating. Interment will take place in the Upper Blackville Baptist Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Northumberland Funeral Home, 102 Pleasant Street in Miramichi. Telephone (506) 622-7741.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Floyd may be made to the Upper Blackville United Baptist church.
“Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” Job 13:15
