Obituary
On Sunday, May 22, 2022, Becky passed away in Lethbridge, Alberta, after a graceful and stoic battle with cancer.
She was born April 18, 1973 to Stanley Warren Tanner and Carolynn Rae Tanner in Cranbrook, British Columbia. She grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and spent much of her adult life in the province until moving to Lethbridge.
The oldest of six children, Becky had the best sense of humor and would often interject her humor and wit to relieve a tense situation. She was pragmatic and unpretentious and would tell you exactly what was on her mind; no guesswork needed.
An animal lover to her core, Becky is leaving several family fur babies behind that she will miss deeply. However, she was comforted at the thought of reuniting with her beloved yorkie, Jagger, in the next life.
She enjoyed cooking and experimenting with her own recipes. Gardening was one of her favorite pastimes, eclipsed only by shopping and getting a good deal. Becky appreciated the small things in life. She had a good work ethic and took pride in the jobs and positions she held throughout her working years. Family was of the utmost importance to her, and she enjoyed spending time not just with her parents and siblings, but also with her many cousins, aunts, uncles, and of course her grandparents.
Becky was predeceased by her father Stan, who lost his battle with cancer in 2020. She was also predeceased by her grandparents, Walter and Mildred Tanner, and Alvin and Lynn Star, all of Cranbrook, B.C.
She is survived by her mother Carolynn Tanner of Alberta and her five siblings: Kristofer (Emily) Tanner of Utah, Keri (Ryan) Nichols of Texas, Erin (Dariel) Ramirez of Germany, Cayliah Tanner of Alaska, and James (Jaime) Tanner of Alberta. She leaves behind nieces and nephews whom she cherished and delighted in watching grow: Cayleigh, Lillian, Kane, Jordyn, Alexis, Ayden, Joshua, Ilianna, Kyndra, Logan, and Artemus.
Her final resting place will be at the Leavitt Cemetery in Leavitt, Alberta. She will forever remain in our hearts, and we hold faith that we will be reunited once again.
