Obituary of Raymond Joseph Sanche
1942 – 2022
Raymond Sanche was born June 24, 1942, in Marcelin, Sask and passed away on March 8, 2022, at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook.
Moving with his parents Joe and Colette Sanche to Kimberley when he was a child, Ray stayed his entire life. He loved living here and working at the Iron Plant for a few years, then retiring from the Kimberley Liquor store in 2002 after 30 years. During his retirement Ray enjoyed spending time camping, fishing, trips to Mexico, delivering Meals on Wheels, extensive time helping on his sons’ farms, and spending time with his seven grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lynda, his sons and their spouses, and his grandchildren. Marty and Sandra Sanche and their children Georgina and Joe. Trevor and Cherie Sanche and their children Danielle (Levi), Jacob (Emily), and Luke, Cori-Lee Kerr’s children Mackenize Kerr and Eden Foley. He is also survived by his sister Annette Shumanski, and brothers Gabe Sanche (Donna), and Dale Sanche (Gayle Webb), and many nieces and nephews.
Ray was predeceased by his daughter Cori-Lee Kerr, brother Leo Sanche and sisters Irene Sanche, Muriel Anderson, Alma Amy, and Lil Nordby.
A small family reception was held on March 14, 2022, to honour and celebrate Ray’s life.
