Raymond Adkin 1933 2022

ADKIN: Raymond Leigh – Passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham, Ontario on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Christine (Stenton) (2011). Survived by his loving children Kathy and Allan. Cherished honorary grandparent of Erin (Tyler) and Luke (Sue) Jackson.
Dear son of the late Rueben and Bella (McEwen) Adkin. Predeceased by his siblings and their spouses Verlyn (Edward) Churcott, Mildred (Russell) Steele, and George (Marilyn) Adkin, and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Katherine and Alan Weed. Ray is survived by several special nieces and nephews.
Ray grew up on the family farm outside Dresden and moved to Charing Cross when he married Christine. He was a teacher for 36 years, the majority spent at Indian Creek Road Public School. In his retirement, he enjoyed early morning golf tee times, photography, gardening, woodworking, reading, and loved following his favorite sports teams especially his Toronto Maple Leafs. Ray was also a valued member of the Charing Cross United Church helping with many committees and projects over the years.
Family will receive friends at Charing Cross United Church, 8561 Middle Line, Charing Cross, on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 10:00am until the Funeral Service at 11:00am. It has been requested that all attendees wear a mask. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
Donations to Charing Cross United Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
