Peacefully, surrounded by family at Bluewater Health, Raymond Emery passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the age of 84. Predeceased by his wife Brenda Emery. Loving father of the late John Emery, Deb Emery-Zevenbergen and Jason Emery and daughter-in-law Darlene Emery. Cherished grandfather of Brett Zevenbergen, Nicole Lavoie (Darren) and Dalton Emery and great-grandfather of Remington Lavoie. Dear brother of David Emery, the late Doreen Robinson, and the late Brian Emery and brother-in-law of June Emery of England. Beloved uncle Ray to Carl Emery, Jacquie Dodd and Paul Emery (Jackie) also to Tracy Sornsen (Wayne), Natalie Murphy (Darren), Gary Emery (Sara) and many more in England. Ray worked for 20 years at Aluma Safway and long-time Point Edward resident, loved his Morris minor car, singing Gerry and the Pacemakers and counting the cars going by the house on the porch. He will be missed by all who knew and loved Ray “Gog”. The family wishes to thank Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit for support and compassion during Dad’s stay.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Alzheimer Society Canada (cheques only at the funeral home please).
