Obituary
Shannon, Raymond Joseph
October 24, 1929 (Prince Albert, Saskatchewan) – September 29, 2022 (Calgary, Alberta)
We lost our beloved husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather at the age of 92. A truly devoted family man who loved unconditionally and was loved the same. His faith, trust, and devotion to the Lord Jesus went with him everywhere to the end.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years, Isabella; his sons Ronald and Ryan; his daughters Valerie (Douglas) and Margaret. His granddaughters Mandie (John) and Monica (Cody), and two great-grandchildren. Also, he leaves behind his sister June Stroh.
Born in Prince Albert, he remained in Saskatchewan where he grew up and attended Notre Dame College (Saskatchewan) for two years. He played hockey with the Hounds, the Junior A and B teams.
His working career began with a major bank where he was for seven years before moving into the oil industry. He enjoyed early retirement and spent a number of years as a volunteer in health care, health foundations, and the Special Olympics. He also continued to play his favourite sports of hockey and golf. Curling was also enjoyed as much as the socializing that went with it.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (541 Silvergrove Drive NW) on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow at St. Peter’s Parish Hall. Internment at Eden Brook Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Calgary.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Raymond Joseph Shannon October 24 1929 September 29 2022 (age 92)..
