Raymond Frederick Single, born August 25, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to his parents Anna and Fred Single passed away peacefully October 14, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He grew up in the Tupper area of Manitoba and moved to Chilliwack in 1954. There he worked for Harper Sheet and Metal, developing a passion for the trade of metal bending. In 1960 Ray started his own business, Rays Heating. Throughout his life, Ray was a problem solver who fixed, envisioned and created devices to help anyone in need.
August 6, 1955 Ray married Shirley Georgina Buschau, the love of his life. They resided in Chilliwack and raised five children. Later in life Ray developed his other true passion of making people aware of his knowledge of God, Jesus Christ our Saviour and our comforter the Holy Spirit. He did this in his conversations with anyone who had time to listen. The family would like to thank Dr. S. Bestor and all the doctors, nurses and staff who gave Ray such wonderful care over the last year in Chilliwack and Abbotsford Hospitals.
Ray is survived by Shirley, his loving wife of 67 years; Melanie (Drew), Darryle (deceased), Wendy, Nancye (Mike) Alan (Brenda deceased) and their families; two sisters and a brother, Bernice, Loyd and Elaine and their families.
