It is with sadness we announce the passing of
Raymond Fidel Fagan, age 83, of Amherst,
NS, formerly of Port Elgin, NB. Raymond passed away on
Wednesday, February 9th, 2022 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care
Centre in Amherst, NS.
Born in Port Elgin, NB, he was a son of the late Frank and
Stella (Donelle) Fagan.
Raymond traveled across Canada as a Steel Worker. A
renowned boxer, he was Maritime Golden Glove Champion in
1958. He has been a dedicated member of AA since
1994.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter Raylene (Tony)
Taylor, Chubenacadie, NB, two grandchildren, Megan and Sissy, wife
Emily Porter, Amherst, NS as well as 4 step daughters and 4 step
grandkids. Raymond came from a large family of 14 brothers and
sisters.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife
Margaret Burns.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the
Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin and
Sackville, NB, (506-364-1300). Visitation will take place at
the Port Elgin location, 3 West Main St., on Monday, February 14,
2022, from 1 pm until 2 pm, followed immediately at 2 pm by his
funeral service, Father Charles Broderick officiating.
Burial will take place in the St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Cemetery,
Port Elgin, in the spring. In keeping with COVID
restrictions, please e-mail info@jonesfuneralhome.ca to
Pre-Register. Masks are mandatory. Proof of Double
Vaccination and a government ID is also required. The
funeral will be available to watch online on Tuesday, February 15,
2022
