Ray Jelinski 1954 2022

Obituary of Ray Jelinski
Jelinski, Raymond Joseph
1954 – 2022
Raymond Joseph Jelinski, late of Regina, Sk, went to his heavenly home on Thursday August 11, 2022, at 8:46 p.m. at the age of 68. Ray will be lovingly remembered by his wife Karen; son Graham Jelinski; and daughter Lauren Marucot (Jeremy). Ray was predeceased by his parents, Arnold and Josephine Jelinski; brother Donald Jelinski. Ray came from a family of four brothers, Donald (Bernice), Gerald (Georgina), Leonard (Loretta), Alvin (Deanna); three sisters, JoAnn, Marianne, and Sharon (Walter) Labrash. He is also survived by the many family members of Lighthouse To All Nations Church.
Ray worked at Sasktel for 24 years before taking an early retirement to serve on the Leadership Team with his wife Karen at Lighthouse To All Nations Church in Regina, Sk for the last 23 years. He was lovingly known as Pastor Ray and loved his church family dearly.
Ray loved his children to the fullest and his greatest pleasure was spending time with them. He and Karen, Graham and Lauren had a wonderful family relationship with so many good memories. Lots of fun trips to different places within Canada and the U.S. He and Lauren had great times together travelling to different nations.
They all loved hopping into the car and having a lot of fun together. He was a wonderful father and raised his children to love Jesus and their family. Throughout their whole lifetime, they never gave Ray any hardships or concern. He and Karen, Graham and Lauren lived with no regrets or unforgiveness, just a lot of love.
Ray had the privilege of officiating Lauren and Jeremy’s wedding on June 18, 2022. It was always his daughter, Lauren’s, desire to have her dad marry her. She and Ray shared that desire together. Ray joyfully gave her away to Jeremy Marucot who Ray loved as his new son.
And OH! How Ray loved fishing. Many men, young and old, benefited from Ray’s passion for fishing and just spending time with them. None more than his son, Graham, who immediately following Lauren and Jeremy’s wedding, went with his dad on a special fishing trip up north. Nothing would have stopped Ray from enjoying this special time with Graham.
Ray loved travelling into Nigeria to love and serve the people that he was sent to at least 14 times. He travelled to the nation serving along side Femi and Remi Ogunrinde and Burabari and Rosemary Daaza.
They partnered together to see a better Nigeria, that would display God’s love and creativity to their nation. Ray had a desire to see nations filled with the knowledge of God. He loved Joe and Karen Leier and their ministry to the nation of Guatemala, where Ray had travelled too as well.
Ray and Karen would have been married for 40 years on November 6, 2022. They loved each other always. Their covenant was one of love, respect, and a lot of fun together as friends. He was a wonderful and kind husband. No one knows better his kindness, wisdom, and love.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ray

I’m so sorry about the loss of your husband. I didn’t know him personally but the way you spoke about him and your beautiful relationship was so heart warming. You are in my thoughts.
