Obituary
Ray Patterson (February 24, 1947 – March 12, 2022)
Ray passed away suddenly, but peacefully in his sleep at his home in Jacquet River, NB. Ray was predeceased by his first wife Lynn and is survived by his loving wife Maggie, his three daughters Tina (Robin), Tracey (Mark) and Erin (Paul) and his step-children Nicole, Rob (Ashley) and Kim (Jeremy). Grandpa Ray will be sadly missed by Skye, Mitchell, Trevor, Jasmine, Evie, Quinn, Leom, Declan and Devyn and he was looking forward to the arrival of his new granddaughter. He is already sorely missed by his fur babies Kasa and Raz.
Ray had many passions; he was a proud retiree of the Peel Regional Police. He spent many wonderful years in the Harness Racing world as a horse owner and trainer. He also enjoyed his time as President of the Paint Horse Association.
Ray and Maggie retired and moved to New Brunswick in May 2021 leaving behind many friends and family members in Ontario. He spent his last days relaxed and happy in his new home, looking forward to fishing in the Bay of Chaleur.
After Ray’s passing Maggie found out what a wonderful, caring community she was living in. Neighbours and even strangers came together to help and support in any way they could. Maggie would particularly like to thank Linn and Maureen Pascal who have become very close friends and have always been there when needed.
A special thank you to the paramedics and RCMP officers for their professionalism and sincere compassion.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Ontario in early May, details to follow.
If desired, donations in memory of Ray may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.

Death notice for the town of: Black-Point, Province: Nouveau-Brunswick
Maggie. I am so sorry for your loss. Ray and I were on the same shift for a long time. I can’t remember the year but Ray and I took a trip to Port Gibson Mississippi as he was buying a couple horse from Mott Headly . We had a great time together on that trip. Great memories of and being with Ray.
