Obituary of Raphael Alexander
Raphael Alexander
St. George’s, NL
May 15, 1936 – August 20, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Raphael “Raphie” Alexander announce his passing at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Center on Saturday, August 20th, 2022, at the age of 86 years.
Raphie will be greatly missed by his children: Paul (Diann), Kim (Jimmy) Grant (Sharon) and son-in-law Gerald; his grandchildren: April, Shannon, Kimberly, Kira, Kennedy, Shane, Trent, Kyle, Christopher, Colton, Steve and Ashley; great-grandchildren: Hunter, Noelle, Reid, Carlos, Shy-Ann, Elliot, Chase, Cooper, Shelby, Raine, Braden, Aden, Carter and Danika.
Raphie has had a large circle of friends who became family throughout his lifetime. He met a lot of these people while working at CN for 38 years, being a Lieutenant with the Navy Reserve, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Knights of Columbus, and Lions Club. He and his wife June met many friends when they owned “Alexanders Sports & Variety”, also known to many as “Raphie’s”. Raphie enjoyed when family (especially the grandkids) and friends would come by “the cabin” to have a drink, go fishing or hunting. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his best fur buddy Duke.
Raphie was predeceased by his wife June and daughter Darlene. A special thank you to the staff at BSG Long Term Care Center for providing such outstanding care for our Dad and Grandad.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of ones choice.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home.
