NICHOLSON, Randy Wilmer – Randy passed away peacefully at the Louise Marshall Hospital with family at his side on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at age 62. He was born May 21, 1960 to proud parents Doris and the late Wilmer Nicholson. After a hard-fought battle with cancer for over two years, Randy is reunited with his dad.
He excelled at Egremont Community School, John Diefenbaker Secondary School and the University of Waterloo (math, accounting). Randy worked the majority of his career with Canadian Tire (over 30 years) as a Parts Service Manager in the Automotive Department. In his leisure time “Flash” had many passions – billiards, darts, slow-pitch, fishing, broomball, card games, cribbage, poker, chess, reading. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Mount Forest Branch 134 – assisting with many events/fundraisers. Many happy memories were made at the cabin near West Bear Lake. He loved watching sports – cheering for the Maple Leafs, Blue Jays and Dallas Cowboys.
Beloved son of the late Wilmer (May 8, 1991) and Doris (Miller) Nicholson. Loving brother of Kathy (Jim) Armstrong, Cheryl (Paul) de Greef, Gregory (Connie) Nicholson, Melanie Stephen (Rob Reynolds), and Shane (Carol) Nicholson. Remembered by his nieces and nephews and their families: Jaime (Brett; Alexa, Jay) Parker, Ryan (Katie; Hailey, Baby-to-be) Armstrong, Erin Armstrong, Nicole de Greef (Peter Verwer; Violet), Shonna de Greef, Lianne Nicholson, David Nicholson, Peter Nicholson, Sasha Stephen, Andrew Stephen (Gwen Saplagio), Alexander Nicholson and Lilian Nicholson. Grandson of the late James and the late Florence (Hattle) Nicholson and the late Eldon and the late Dorothy (McDonald) Miller. Survived by many relatives and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Mount Forest Branch 134, 140 King Street West, Mount Forest, on Friday, October 7, 2022.
