Obituary of Randolph Floyd Gillies
GILLIES, RANDOLPH FLOYD
After a courageous battle with cancer and with broken hearts we announce the passing of Randolph “Randy” Floyd Gillies of Noonan, NB, husband of Kathy Gallant, on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at home. Born on February 3, 1951 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Ralph and Gladyse (Bates) Gillies. He was an avid hunter. Randy loved spending time with his grandchildren, they were the light of his life.
In addition to his wife, Randy is survived by his son, Christopher “Chris” Gallant (Pam); grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Gallant; siblings, Nancy Dickison, Michael Gillies, Glenna Gillies (Laurie), Terry Gillies, Susan Gillies (Wayne) and Jo-Anne King (Danny); several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson Aiden, brothers, Gerald and Brian Gillies; sister, Patsy Dutcher.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Memorial Service will take place in York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 2 pm with Archdeacon John Sharpe officiating. The family request that due to the current health situation that masks be worn for all services. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
