Obituary
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Randy, a loving father, brother, and friend to many over the years. We will always treasure our hikes, camping, fishing, and many hours spent searching for the perfect rock or wood for walking sticks. Randy had many happy memories of fun times spent at Shuswap Lake, Vancouver Island, Kananaskis, and Little Bow. His favourite work throughout the years was working with custom-designed precast steps, decks, and residential landscape design.
Randy is survived by his son Kevin; his daughter Ashlea; his brother Douglas and nephew Wyatt; his father Paul Haugaard and spouse Cathy; twin sisters Veronica Wheeldon and Andrea Connors; brother Carson Haugaard; and Randy’s former spouse and dear friend Terri Eriksen, as well as many nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law. Randy is predeceased by his loving mother Anne Gorbich (2010), and honorary-mother Sorel Haugaard (1990).
At Randy’s request, there will not be a public memorial service. We will arrange a family gathering in Springtime, his favorite season.

life holds so many facets, this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing that we could know today,
how nothing but our sadness can really pass away.
And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched,
for nothing loved is ever lost, and he was loved so much.”
A special thank you from our family to the Peter Lougheed Hospital Emergency, ICU, and Units 38 and 39 for the exceptional care and comfort he received during his last few weeks.
