Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ramona Schultz.
Ramona was born May 30, 1932, near Friedenstal, Alberta. Ramona was the first of three sisters (Anne & Isabell) who grew up on the family farm.
Ramona went to school at Friedenstal and Vanrena; after finishing eighth grade, she went to work full-time on the farm.
Ramona developed her strong work ethic on the farm and carried that forward throughout her life.
Ramona married Sam Schultz in Fairview in 1953 and began the happiest years of her life, living first in Fairview and then in Grande Prairie.
She made a career of being a homemaker; she was an incredible cook, baker, gardener, and wife. Ramona also enjoyed her hobbies, such as needlework, and she loved camping with Sam.
One of Ramona’s gifts was music. From an early age, she played in the family orchestra. She carried her love of music throughout her entire life, playing her accordion and piano every day for as long as she was able.
Life changed for Ramona after Sam passed away, and she moved to Sherwood Park for several years until she moved home, where she resided at the Hines Creek Homesteader Lodge until her passing.
Ramona is survived by her two daughters, Sandra (David) Clegg and Rhonda (Don) Rempel, three grandchildren, Emily (Denny) Honing, Will (Katherine) Clegg, Margaret (Houston) Zaderey, and six great-grandchildren.
A private Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022.
Care has been entrusted to Peace Valley Funeral Home.
