Obituary
The peaceful death of Ramona Weiman (nee Diebert), 93 years, occurred on Friday, January 7, 2022 at her residence at Samaritan Place in Saskatoon. Ramona was born on January 6, 1929 at Bruno to George and Kate (nee Schroepfer) Diebert. Her first few years were spent in town in Bruno and then the family moved to a farm where she spent the rest of her childhood. She attended Bruno School and following her education began working at Schwinghammer’s Grocery Store. She worked there for quite a few years and then moved over to Schulte Rexall Drugs where she worked until retiring in her early 40’s. On July 19, 1954 Ramona married Clarence Weiman and they made their home in Bruno. Both Ramona and Clarence had a green thumb and their yard was a masterpiece of beautiful flowers each year. They enjoyed many good times with family and friends at their cabin at Wakaw Lake. They shared a love of cooking and always had delicious cinnamon buns and poppy seed buns to share with visitors. Ramona enjoyed sewing and was able to retro fit many clothing items to better fit her. She had a love of horses – in her younger years having a horse named Blackie and then in later years, many pictures and ornaments of horses adorned her home. Ramona loved having family stop in for a visit and she was famous for her lengthy phone conversations with family and friends over the years. Following Clarences death in 2012, Ramona moved to Samaritan Place in Saskatoon where she lived until the present. She was the resident plant expert there as anyone who was having issues with their plants would bring them to her to nurse back to health. Ramona will be lovingly remembered by her sister Arlene (Dale) Ebner of Bruno; in-laws of the Weiman family: Myrna (Alphonse) Thimm of Bruno, Elaine (Duane) Wourms of Saskatoon, Rosemarie Weiman of Cudworth and Marianna Weiman of Quesnel, BC; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence Weiman; parents George and Kate Diebert; sister Viola (Edwin) Sand; parents-in-law George and Mary Weiman; and in-laws of the Weiman family: Marina (Nick) Sand, Theodore Weiman, Clifford Weiman, Isadore Weiman (in infancy) and Angeline Weiman (in childhood). As per Ramona’s wishes, a private service will be held. Memorial donations in Ramona’s memory may be made to the Bruno Friendship Center.
