Rachel Helen Bates-Wilson 1986 2022

Rachel Bates-Wilson – 35, Truro. It is
with saddened and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rachel
Bates-Wilson on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at VG Site, QEII, Halifax.
She was the daughter of Tracey Wilson and Tony Bates, sister to
Matthew Bates and mother to Cyrena Lemmon.
Along with her parents, brother and daughter, she is survived
by her boyfriend, Jason McCallum; stepdaughters, Carlie and Cassie.
She was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Myrtle and Maynard
Wilson; paternal grandparents, Helen and Charlie Bates.
Rachel lived life putting the wants and needs of others well
above the needs of her own. She was known for having a kind soul and
being an extremely hard worker at the Truro Superstore where she
worked for over 10 years. She was known to address everyone as either
“Hun” or “Hey, Beautiful!”
She loved and found comfort in her animals, Sophie the cat
and her many fish. Although she struggled and fought with her own
challenges much of her life, she always offered a helping hand to
those around her, even in the toughest of times.
A small celebration of life will be held at a later date,
with close family and friends. She left this world far too soon
allowing heaven to gain another angel. In lieu of flowers, donations
in Rachel’s memory to Carma Cat Rescue Maritimes –
Colchester Chapter are welcomed.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Private messages of
condolence may be sent to the family by viewing Rachel’s obituary
