R. Bradford Woodworth
of Lakelands, East Hants, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on
April 12, 2022 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, NS. Brad
fought an extensive and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s which was
recently complicated by additional medical conditions. Born in Blue
Mountain on June 11, 1935, he was a son of the late Robert and Altina
(Jones) Woodworth. Brad lived most of his life in the Valley and
worked as a hard dedicated roofer where he excelled to the position of
manager with T.P. Calkin Ltd. He later ventured out with his partner,
Garth Bradshaw and together they managed and operated Bradshaw
Woodworth Roofing Ltd. For several years Brad and Garth enjoyed being
successfully employed serving Nova Scotians across the province until
he retired. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing,
hunting, boating, snowmobiling and 4-wheeling. Brad is survived by his
spouse of 51 years, Margaret “Marg” (Kinsman); two sons,
Geoffrey (Patricia), Falmouth and Craig, Lakelands; an honorary
daughter, Rachel Mason and her son, Taylor. He also loved and will be
missed by grandchildren, Alicia and Kyle. Brad is also survived by a
sister, Joy (Ward) McKay; sister-in-law, Glenda Woodworth; several
nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by
a brother, Stanley; sisters, Gail McKinlay and Betty Blanchard. A
special thank you is extended to all who cared for Brad, the staff at
Hants Community Hospital and the VON. As per Brad’s wishes there will
be no funeral. Donations in memory may be made to the Mount Uniacke
Wish Givers Foundation would be appreciated
uniackewishgivers@gmail.com, the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or
to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted
to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
He’s in the
sun, the wind, the rain,
He’s in the
air you breathe with every breath you take
He sings a song of hope and cheer
There’s no more pain, no more fear.
You’ll see him in the clouds above,
Hear him whisper words of love.
You’ll be together before long,
Until then listen for his song.
