The family of Quenton Reginald Currie are saddened to
announce the peaceful passing of their husband, father, grandfather,
uncle and cousin at the Dartmouth General Hospital on Friday morning,
July 15, 2022 at the age of 79. Quenton was born in O’Leary
on June 8, 1943, son of the late Denzil and Elga (MacDougall) Currie.
He was married to Norma Ann (Clowes) Currie on August 19, 1967 and
were a month short of celebrating their 55th wedding
anniversary.
Quenton spent 12 years in the Canadian Armed Forces (Ground
Communications) and 37 years with CN Rail.
Cherished dad and grampy to his two children, Quenton Jr
(Colleen Kearney) and their children Grace and Rachael and Joy Lyn
(David) Oldreive and their children Emma and Thomas. He was so proud
of all of them. Quenton is also survived by his brother Keith
(Debbie), Moncton , his sister Silver (Roger) Gauvin, Lower Sackville
along with several cherished nieces and nephews, He treasured his time
spent with his Island cousins and their families.
Predeceased by his parents, infant sister Elga Gail, brother
Glen, several much loved aunts and uncles.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of
Berkeley Dartmouth for their care and friendship during his four years
there. Also they would like to thank Dr Evans and staff of 4 West,
Dartmouth General for their care and compassion his last
days.
Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel,
O’Leary for visiting hours on Tuesday 6-8pm.
Funeral on Wednesday in the Chapel at 2pm. Interment to follow in
the Springfield West Baptist Cemetery.
