With great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved father, Harbans Singh Purewal, who passed away on April 21, 2022. He was predeceased by his wife, Surinder Kaur Purewal; his parents Pritam Singh Purewal & Ranjit Kaur Purewal; and his sister-in-law Gurmail Singh Sidau. He is survived by his son, Gurjit Purewal, and daughter, Baljit Kaur Lalli; his grandchildren Ekroop, Balmehar, Prabhleen, and Jeevan; his brother Harninder Singh Purewal; his in-laws Rajinder Sengh Gill & Kartar Kaur Gill; his brothers-in-law Hardeer Singh Gill and Sukhjit Kaur Gill; and sister-in-law Baldeesh Kaur Sidhu.
Soft-spoken and very caring, Harbans Singh was always happy, never complained about anything, and lived a carefree life. He was born in Samrai, Punjab, India on September 7, 1942, and graduated from Doaba College. He worked as an Auditor for Co-operative Societies. Then in 1999, on April 19 he arrived in Kelowna, BC, Canada. We will always remember how he loved reading the Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
A Funeral Service will be held to honour Harbans Singh on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27, 2022, at 1:00 PM (PDT), at SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.
