CAREY, Phyllis Marie (Fleet)
Peacefully on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital, Phyllis Carey went home to her Lord in her 90th year. Beloved wife of Vernal “Pete” Carey† (November 2, 2008) for 52 years. Loving mother of Grant†, Randy†, and Shannon and her husband Derek Presswood. Dear Grandma of Peter, Grant, and Claire. Loved sister and sister-in-law to Blake† and Laura† Fleet, Blanche† and Bruce† Robinson, Ralph† and Jean Fleet, Howard† and Jenny Fleet, Lorne and Wanda Fleet, Orval† and Dorothy† Fleet, Ivan and Kathy Fleet, Olive† Fleet, Marion and John Brokloff, and Margaret and Murdoch† McAskill, Donald† and Verna† Carey, and Dorothy† and George† Kennedy. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and many friends.
Phyllis worked at Bell Canada until she married her husband Pete in 1956 and became a homemaker, as a wife and mother of three children. Pete and Phyllis also enjoyed fostering children with the Children’s Aid Society for many years. She was a longtime member of Flamborough Baptist Church. Special thanks to her sister Marion Brokloff and her niece Debbie Paglia for all their loving help over the years.
Friends may visit with the family at the KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m.where the Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11 a.m., Chaplain Roger Boyd officiating. Interment Waterdown Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Family Centre. If desired, donations to Men’s Ministry would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
