Phoebe’s Obituary
Following a two-year journey with cancer Phoebe Jean Brake passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook on August 13th, 2022 at the age of 67. She leaves behind her children Dennis (Samantha), Shannon (Irene), Jennifer – Dawn (Christopher) Richards and Jessica (Stephen) Bennett; her grandchildren, Kirsten (Bradley), Trista – Lynn (Jayden), Brian (Madison), Ashley (Craig), Angelica, Cain, Daisy & William; her long-time gentleman friend, Chris Randell and her special fur baby, Frankie. She also leaves her siblings Lloyd (Laurie) in Nova Scotia, Ronald (Vera) in Bonne Bay Pond, Leonard in Meadows and Hughena (Kevin) in Rocky Harbour.
Phoebe was predeceased by her husband Wallace Norman Brake; her parents Ruby and Clarence Payne; brothers Amador Payne and Macdonald (Max) Payne, sister Deborah (Debbie) Carr and parent in-laws Bryant and Hannah Brake.
Phoebe had a big heart and was loved by so many nieces, nephews, extended family and a large circle of friends. She will be missed.
As per Phoebe’s wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit in honour of our mother. The care, kindness and compassion shown from the staff at the Palliative Care Unit will never be forgotten. Donations can be made by calling the WMRH Foundation, Palliative Care (709) 784 – 5333.
