Phillip Byron Misener – July 2, 1958 – June 1, 2022.
The family of Byron Misener is sad to announce his passing on June 1, 2022, following his
courageous battle with cancer.
Survived by his wife Debbie Benner, daughter Vesna Wilkinson, step-children Candy Bonnar,
Christina Benner, Bryan Benner, Edward Benner, sisters Elizabeth Hayden, Maude MacDonald,
Jacquie McCulloch, Patricia Misener, and brother David Misener, and eight grandchildren.
Pre-deceased by parents John and Dinah Misener, sisters Margaret MacKinnon and Gorgina
Misener, and brother Peter Misener.
In his youth, Byron enjoyed a career as an Amateur Boxer and represented Canada on their
Olympic Team. His working career was as a Welder, most recently with Irving Shipyards.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
Visitation will be held Tuesday June 7, 2022 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Eastern Passage Community Funeral Home, 5 Cow Bay Road, Eastern Passage.
Burial will follow at a later date in New Glasgow.
