We, the family of Philip Edward Wareham, regret to announce his passing on April 19, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born May 30, 1953, in Sydney, he was the son of the late Augustus “Gus” and Blanche (MacNamara) Wareham.
Mr. Wareham worked at Cape Breton Beverages for more than 20 years. He was an avid outdoorsman whose passions were hunting and fishing. He enjoyed participating in the George Moore Fishing Derby with friends and family for 35 years. He was also a member of the Cape Trail Beagle Club where he trained and competed with his dogs. He also loved to go on long drives with his wife and their fur baby, Lilly and playing fetch with the newest fur baby, Buddy. Philip also enjoyed spending time and having laughs with friends, family and neighbors.
Philip is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Philip and Troy (Kerri), Calgary; grandchildren, Travis and Briann; sisters, Joyce (Gary) Murphy, Sydney, Rita (Alfie) Nash, Sydney and Monica Wareham, Sydney; and brothers, Gordon (Phyllis), Sydney and Joseph (Nancy), Calgary.
Besides his parents, Philip was predeceased by his sisters, Sharon and Liz.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff on floor 4B and the palliative care team at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for the care and kindness provided to Philip during his final weeks.
Visitation will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday, April 25 from 2-4 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 4 p.m. with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
