Philip Alexander Halvorson, at the age of 86, passed away peacefully with his daughters at his side on Tuesday, February 1st, 2022. Phil was born in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan on October 21, 1935, moving to Mara, BC at a young age. Phil and Margaret met in Mara and were married in Enderby on October 10, 1959. Phil had travelling feet and moved his family, which was now Margaret and 5 children, to several BC communities settling in Enderby. Phil had many careers throughout his life including logging, truck driving, postal delivery and starting up Tip of the Glacier Water Company. Phil enjoyed helping others, playing cards and many crib games, walking, bowling, curling, golfing and spending time with family. Phil will be lovingly remembered his daughters Edith Forsythe, Ann (Gerard) Doorn, Bernice (Bruce) Buchanan, Chrystal Halvorson and daughter-in-law Timi Halvorson, 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, brothers Donald, Chester (Iris) and George (Alvina),and sister Joyce, many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Phil was predeceased by his wife Margaret, his son Lawrence, brothers Raymond and Edward and his sister Wilna. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday February 10th at 11AM at Armstrong Spallumcheen Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at Alternatives Funeral Services, Armstrong, BC at 12PM. We would like to thank the staff at Parkview Place in Enderby for the wonderful, kind care they showed our dad.
