Hannam, Phil, age 79 of
Antigonish passed away on October 1, 2022, in St. Martha’s
Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Annapolis Royal, he was a son of the late Gordon Long
and Muriel Hannam.
Phil became an engineer through the Corp of Engineering in
the Canadian Armed Forces. He was a big part of Search and Rescue for
many years. He was worked most of his life as a
carpenter. He enjoyed playing solitaire, camping, fishing,
watching CBC News and The History Channel. Phil also was a former Boy
Scout leader in Springhill.
He is survived by his wife, Pat (Sloan); children, Veronica,
Amherst; Valerie, Dartmouth; and Jonathan, Halifax; grandsons, Walter
Crowell and Lucas Cameron; and siblings, Linus (Deborah), Sheldon
(Beverly), Kathleen (late Ivan Clayton), Geraldine (Ashley Bruce), and
Blanche (Ron Deans).
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a son Philip, in
infancy, his siblings, Steward, Deblois, and Shirley, in
infancy.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral will be held Tuesday,
October 11th at 10:30 am in C.L. Curry Funeral
