In Loving Memory
Mrs. Nelly Gubbels of Delhi , passed away peacefully at the Delhi Long Term Care Centre, on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in her 102nd year. Nelly and Pierre were married in The Netherlands in 1951 and immigrated to Canada in 1954 with two small children. They raised their family of six children on their family tobacco farm near Delhi . Nelly was known for her acts of kindness, hard work, love of her family, and faith in God. She was a long time CWL member. Former Petronella Maria van Asten. Beloved wife of the Late Pierre Gubbels (2001). Loving mother of Hubert Gubbels (Judy), Anne Marie Claes (Dennis), Maria Brennan (Gerry), Henry Gubbels (Loraine), Peter Gubbels (Marilyn) and Willy Gubbels (Patty). Cherished grandmother of Mark, Kim, Colleen (Chris), Bryan, Paul (Meghan), Emily (Andrew), Emma, Ashley (Alan), Sarah, Scott (Amy) and Angela, and great grandmother to Max, Mya, Bella, Lily, Hunter, Owen and several step- grandchildren. Sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Predeceased by her grandson, Gerrit Gubbels (2015), by her daughter in law, Marlie Gubbels (2015), son-in-law Lloyd Andrews (1980), by her brother Antoon van Asten (Late Mien), by her sister Mien van den Boogaard (Late Frits). The Gubbels family would like to thank ALL of the dedicated and caring staff at Delhi L.T.C. for their care and support. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Delhi Cemetery . In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Donations to Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Memorial Church Fund or the charity of your choice will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
