Obituary of Peter William Theodore Atamanenko
In Loving Memory of Peter William Theodore Atamanenko
September 1965 – January 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Atamanenko announces his sudden passing on January 5, 2022 at the age of 56, in Quesnel BC.
The younger of 2 children, Peter was born in Victoria BC on September 24, 1965 to Gloria and George Atamanenko. He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and friend.
Peter was proud of his Ukrainian heritage and was a kind, passionate and intensely private person. He cared deeply for the environment, social and political justice and was a champion of disadvantaged people everywhere.
He was an avid outdoorsman and found relaxation in the solitude of hiking, fishing and camping. Peter also enjoyed reading, writing, music, gardening, drawing, photography and cooking new and different types of cuisine.
Family and friends are deeply saddened. We mourn the loss of Peter and encourage any and all who knew him to remember the fragile beauty he brought to this world. Peter, you showed us all what it means to take on life’s challenges on your own terms. We love you, and we always will.
The Atamanenko family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for your sympathy in our time of grief. Thank you for your love and support.
An announcement will be made at a later date regarding a Celebration of Peter’s Life. In Memoriam donations to your local Food Bank or Sheltering Agency would be most welcome.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Peter
